Our Mission

Project DCR is a grass-root, non-political, non-religious community development organization. The acronym DCR stands for: Dignity, Consciousness and Respect. The aim of our work is to promote these values both here in Ecuadorian society and in the global community. The work of the organization is divided into three different fields, according to these values.

The Dignity portion of the organization is devoted to working with marginalized children in Quito, helping them to get an education through the schools we maintain.Our belief is that if we support the tools for the children's education, they will have the potential to take charge of their lives and their futures. Instead of having to beg on the street they will have the possibility of a life with more dignity.

The Consciousness portion of the organization is devoted to raising awareness of social issues in society. This is done through engaging people in different kinds of projects with the aim of inspiring people to take action to end social injustices. Our belief is that if there is going to be a change in the world it will have to come from both government and citizens.

The Respect portion of the organization is devoted to ensuring that our work is done in a respectful way to the surrounding environment and society. We will work in an environmentally friendly manner in order to leave behind the smallest possible ecological footprint.

The part of the organization that demands the most attention and funding is Project D. This project means that we become involved in the lives of many people. It is a big responsibility. With the help of our talented staff we do our best to fulfil this responsibility with integrity.
